Google Reviews Are Paused

With so many businesses closing, offering limited hours, or limited options, Google has paused the ability to leave reviews. This goes for both the business and the customers. Businesses are not able to respond to previously posted reviews and customers are not able to leave new reviews.

Google Cares

When this started on 3/20/20, Google did it for a very good reason. They didn’t want businesses to be hurt by receiving negative reviews from people that may be disgruntled by the fact the business is closed or that it’s not operating in the usual hours or ways. By disabling the reviews it keeps out the reviews that may come from people that may not have the right information or may have bad intentions.

Not The Only One To Limit Reviews

It seems that Google is not the only company to adopt this current practice. Yelp has also decided to suspend the ability for reviews from both customers and employees. They have seen a drastic decline for businesses and they want to help businesses keep their reputation in this difficult and unusual time.
