Regardless of what type of business you’re in, it’s important to have a library of resources at your fingertips. For those of us in the business of helping others, it only makes sense that we collaborate in order to multiply our efforts and help in bigger ways than if we were each trying to do good alone.
So, in the spirit of collaboration to create a nonprofit community of people who are dedicated to elevating ALL to GO BIG, we would like to share with you just a few of our recommendations. The below list includes online resources as well as some of our favorite podcasts – all designed to share knowledge in order to multiply our efforts to do good.
Four Online Resources to Help You Stay on Top of Your Nonprofit Game
National Council of Nonprofits
The National Council of Nonprofits is a trusted resource and proven advocate for America’s charitable nonprofits, and is a top priority resource for nonprofits of any size. The Council keeps nonprofits up-to-date on regional and national public policy trends, as well as on “charitable giving” tax policies and incentives. They also provide a comprehensive collection of curated and created tools, resources and samples for nonprofits to be better positioned to help the communities they serve.
Some of their recent blog posts cover: fundraising in the time of Covid, how much an internal audit should cost, remote and telecommuting practices for nonprofits and how to handle sexual harassment in the nonprofit workplace. Timely and timeless, all in one place!
Nonprofit Association of Oregon
Similar to the National association’s mission, NAO represents and supports nonprofits of all sizes throughout the state of Oregon. They strive to strengthen the collective voice, leadership, and capacity of nonprofits to enrich the lives of all Oregonians. NAO offers free resources, but nonprofits can connect with a robust group of peers statewide by considering a few different levels of membership. Homegrown Oregonian nonprofits? Yes, please!
The Chronicle of Philanthropy
A valuable online resource for nonprofits, offering both free content and subscriber access to premium content. The Chronicle offers a wide range of content, including up-to-date news, resources, data, access to grants, webinars, published reports/studies and access to job boards. One-stop shopping for nonprofits!
A nonprofit networking community focused on the latest ways to get tech into the hands of people working for good all over the world. Their mission states that they imagine a world in which social-change agents from all walks of life can fully access the profound power of technology and a connected world — and use it to improve lives. Technology being used for good? I think we can all jump on board with that!
